I Bought Something, I Did Not Want Today
Something I can Not afford to pay
But I was told, I bought it any way
I have been laid off 4 times
the mortgage, bills, debts, I fall behind
my children would not eat well
if it were not for food-stamps
and I still have to pay child support
and eldest just made me a Gramps
but my Government,
more specifically, my President
informed me, I just bought another war today
with more, guaranteed, on the way
every new job is a cut in pay
but more war, more of the same
I get it, it’s my fault, buying
into the campaign of Change
and I do not understand
why am I buying wars, in foreign Lands
who have not, with their armies
attacked my nation, they do not have one
and how does that improve my situation
for the President, I have a suggestion
that He demand Congress to pass Legislation
that from now own, America will only attack
Nations capable of fighting back
that Congress will send their children
to the front-lines, and these Generals
will have to actually lead troops into battle
talking tough, beneath a bunker, is a disgrace
not being man enough to look your enemy in their face
these brave decorated men, send young men and women to die
use their trusting fear to splatter their Blood into the sky
I wonder, will I buy war for my grand-children
I’d rather pay for their education
The President did not ask, just told the Nation
we are all buying another war, we can not afford
putting at risk, our room and board
I tried email, could not connect
so I sent the President a text
“I wished President Kennedy were still alive,

The Dow Went Up Five Thousand Points Today
Showing a robust, rebounding economy, on the way
the news voice said, was it talking to me
or the ever flowing, sporadic, erratic, intelligent money
I sat there shaking my head, the Dow
has nothing to do with the Real Economy
it’s just the bear, bull barometer of the market-place
whose brokered broken thermometer is the pace
buying, selling and trading is taking place
has nothing to do with new factories being built
or small business growth, or hirings, firings
The Dow monitors how much paper returns, paper
but somehow the voice on my TV
wants me to believe it’s has something to do
with the Economy, and that this news is good for me
hmm, how can the Dow go up, and meet rising un-employment
how can the Dow go up and foreclosures increase
housing prices becoming a reverse ATM
sucking all my investment value into the world’s-wind
how can the Dow go up as decency declines
when layoffs are occurring for the umpteeth time
as the National debt, increases out of control
babies birthed, fatherless, by thirteen year olds
medical stocks jumped, why, because the average
American is either medicated or drunk
does making more money on Wall Street
mirror living on main street, or are they even related
oh there’s a relation, how investors react
to the consumer’s re-re-action or
re-inaction to the news I’m being told
a guesstimation of how much I’ll consume
of the products being ocean dumped or actually sold
or maybe I’ll option out and not buy, so puts rise the stock sky high
as the markets go down, due to declining revenue
don’t worry, we’ll get the actual numbers,
next month, when doing th the following Month’s review
or if I buy, calls making the stock go up and up
as if, as a consumer, I can’t get enough, enough
so they don’t know what I’ll do and they really don’t care
they make the news voice tell them what they want to hear
and reality, is like catching vapor, or as real as their paper
so how do you read, truth, bullet ridden with lies
you go out and buy, then return to the store
get your money back, so the sale was a sale
isn’t a sale and confuse them some more
either way, at first, they’ll be happy
thinking they tricked you into spending
more, of their borrowed money, they’ve been Lending…R.D.Revilo
