  1. Animals of the bush kill for survival…humans kill for every other pitiful reason. Makes me grateful to be able to walk away from abusive relationships with my life. Great blog as always!

My friend and I had only arrived in India a few days before, and walking from the city train to the gargantuan, flat, muddy jungle-gym of a transfer-station, I saw neglected dead human bodies for the first time. One was a child, and a few feet there was an adult – one half on one side of the rail. There was a gang of young boys who asked us for candy, money and pens, and when we didn’t produce, they jumped up on the rails of the next parked golf-cart taxi, thrust their hips, and gave us the f f f salute-

    • yes, very sad how the resources of this planet are not used properly to meet the needs of people and help them solve their own problems…travel is the best education, I wish more people would do so instead wasting their wealth on junk…peace

      • Aye, though conditions may be different there than they are in America, there are some issues that are endemic here but would be laughable to people in India ^_^

        • the power of culture, to define one’s own reality, collectively…India and America are being changed, by different means…hopefully this will lead to improvement of social conditions, eventually…peace

  4. I am deeply distraught by this post, it hit me to the core. As a women who fled domestic violence, this reminded me that one of these victims could have been me, hence my certainty more that ever that I made the right choice in leaving my husband for my and my baby’s sake.
